You received an error “Error while checking in & storing” when trying to add and save an attachment.
1. In transaction code OACT, check and confirm the storage category in assigned to the correct content repository.
2. In transaction code OAC0, check and confirm the certificate is sent successfully and the connection is working fine (SAPHTTP, SAPFTP connection in transaction code SM59)
3. In transaction code CSADMIN, deselect the Check signature box. You can confirm the Check signature is deselect via repository settings, the security value will be 0. Please see this link, http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/PLM/26+253+-+Reason+for+this+error for details.
4. Check the appropriate directory is having enough space to hold the data.
5. Check the database (MaxDB) for the content server is sufficient (data area)
